Graduate Certificate in Bilingual Education

The Graduate Certificate in Bilingual Education is intended for multilingual educators currently teaching or aspiring to teach in a dual language/bilingual classroom. The goal of the program is to provide teachers with the theoretical and practical knowledge to support students in meeting the goals of dual language education including bilingualism and biliteracy, high academic achievement in two languages, and sociocultural competence. Participants in the Bilingual Education Endorsement Certificate Program will have completed the necessary requirements for the subject matter knowledge and field experience components of the Bilingual Educator Endorsement. In addition, to qualify for the Bilingual Educator Endorsement from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MA DESE), a passing score on the Massachusetts Teacher Education Licensure (MTEL) world language proficiency exam is required.
